Penn State New Kensington recognizes the need to provide students with broader perspectives on world and national views, and the need to create opportunities to be more engaged citizens in their local community.
The program's three objectives are to
- enhance the learning environment on campus;
- increase students’ knowledge of community, national, and world events;
- encourage a lifelong daily newspaper readership habit.
As of September 2019, Penn State New Kensington campus offers digital access for Penn State faculty, staff, and students to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal at no additional cost.
